QuickBooks Unable to connect to  company data file

By taking an initiative to develop an accounting software the application like to the QuickBooks, Intuit has created a lot of buzz in the industry. Specific  designed for a payroll management  and inventory, the software has changed the entire accounting scenario. In addition, the application has been designed with specific industry needs in mind that is all possible with its smart features like merchant services, training solutions in the  marketing tools, etc.

When you try to open Point of Sale, the following error may occur:

Unable to connect to your company data file.

Cause of the Error Company Data File.

The error may occur due to any of the following three reasons.
·         Point of Sale tries to be reconnected to your company data file.

·         The database in the service is not  to running state.

·         You have installed Point of Sale on client system instead of servery of your data because you might need it later, if problem does not get fixeBefore explaining the resolution, it is necessary to let you know that you must back up all your data regularly and always make sure that you have the latest data file

QuickBooks Version 10

If you have version 10 of the software, perform the following steps to resolve the problem:
1) It is possible that you have a installed Point of Sale on the client system and not server if this is first installation.  you need to uninstall the Point of Sale and reinstall it on a Server computer.
2) Follow the below given instructions to check that the client and database server both are the running:
·         Quit all the running applications.

·         Restart your system.

·         Open Point of Sale.

If you find that the problem still occurs, do the following:
1.    Quit Point of Sale.
2.    Click the  Start button on your Windows computer, and then click 'Run'. (On Windows 7 & Vista, you will find the 'Run' option under 'All Programs'
3.    Type service  and click 'OK'.
4.    Right-click 'QuickBooks Database Manager v10', and then click Restart.
5.    Right-click 'Intuit Entitlement Service v6', and the click 'Restart'.
However, if you find that the problem persists, the option you are left with is restoring from the latest full backup.

It is the possible that you have installed Point of Sale on client system and not server, if this is first installation.  you need to uninstall the Point of Sale and reinstall it on a Server computer.
Make sure that the client and server are in running state by doing the following:
·         Quit all running applications on the system.
·         Restart the system.
·         Open Point of Sale.
If the problem is not resolved, perform the following:
1.    Quit Point of Sale.
2.    Click the 'Start' button on your Windows system, and then click Run.
3.    Write services  in the box and click OK
4.    Right-click QuickBooks  Database Manager v11, and then click on the Restart.
6.    Open the Point of Sale.
If the error crops up again, you need to use the backup that you have taken most recently for restoration.
